While it isn’t the first one, some Superstars are unhappy with the latest two hour RAW-the first of those in a long time.

The shorter format is here at least until the end of 2024. Or, if you weren’t keeping score? We have two hour editions of RAW until the show moves over to Netflix . Once it does, we are expecting some big things-though so far, no comment about length of the show. WWE should have some flexibility there, considering that the streaming platform does not generally have live television. There won’t be a show to come on after, nor a show coming on at RAW’s end to keep the end time the same every week. But for now, we have two hour shows again.

    And some were unhappy

That Superstars were unhappy, in fairness, was not entirely or completely due to the timing. Instead, it was perhaps some growing pains from the change, and some lack of clarity behind a particular match. Specifically, the large women’s tag match. While such a match could resemble a Survivor Series match, we aren’t quite to the point were WWE preps us and hypes those matches. Instead, we had a bunch of female talent given less than ten minutes of television time-without too much of a reason why. Sure, some involved have had issues or history, but it’s short history at most. Or no history at all. So according to Fightful , there was a bit of frustration with how that match was booked and the logic behind it all.

I suspect that it was an effort to spread the now-limited television time around a bit easier. The problem is, when you make tag team encounters that massive, it seldom works. Can it? Sure. But it requires history and a back story, and what we got Monday was a bit lacking in that. We can give them a pass for the first of the latest round of two hour shows. Hopefully this is not something we see and hear more of moving forward. Honestly, at least some of the booking I don’t blame on a two hour show. I’ve had issues with Pure Fusion Collective and Damage CTRL working together since the jump, because neither team had become a clear face-both were still identifying as heels.

The roster is too bloated to get good matches in 2 hours. This is a mistake that WWE made all on their own. They went 3 hours even during the pandemic. That's when they should've scaled back. The matches seem rushed now. Thete have also been a lot of mistakes or botches that hardly happened before. That's another clue that things have not changed for the better behind the scenes.
