After numerous attempts to get Conor McGregor back into the Octagon, David Feldman is anticipating “The Notorious” appearing in bare knuckle.

In an interview with Inside Fighting, the BKFC President shared his thoughts on getting Conor McGregor in the “Squared Circle.”

“He’s got two UFC fights ahead of him and you know he could resign with them. I don’t know. Listen, does he want to fight? Yes. Is he going to fight? Time will tell. But I think it’s at least a year out,” Feldman said.

Conor McGregor has been a noticeably consistent presence with the company after purchasing an ownership stake this past spring. The former UFC double champion has taken on promotional duties including weigh-in and event appearances.

In Feldman’s eyes, Conor McGregor’s attraction to the brand stems from an inherent interest in fighting shared by all.

“Every man, woman, color, creed, age doesn’t matter. They all know what it is. It’s relatable to them. Why? Because they’ve done it. They’ve seen it. They’ve seen someone do it.”

    Conor McGregor vs Jake Paul?

There has been no shortage of BKFC fighters who have publicly entertained a showdown with Conor McGregor. Mike Perry, likely the biggest star on the roster, has been engaged in a bizarre feud with the Irish superstar.

The tension culminated in McGregor “firing” Perry following a TKO loss in a boxing match to Jake Paul in July. Last week, welterweight champ Austin Trout said he would “gladly oblige” a match with his new boss.

While Feldman admits that his business partner fighting under the banner isn’t on the immediate schedule, he still gave his wish list of opponents. Surprisingly, or not depending on your perspective, the number one option is not among the stable of contracted fighters.

“Certainly Jake Paul . Just because of the eyeballs. Funny thing is, Jake Paul wants that fight in bare knuckle. And Conor wants that fight in bare knuckle. I think it’s probably the biggest fight in combat sports history.” However, that level of interest doesn’t negate the logistical hurdles. “You know Jake has obligations coming up. [Plus] Conor owes the UFC two fights,” he continued.

In addition to Perry, three more realistic options are Chad Mendes , Eddie Alvarez , and Jeremy Stephens. All three have their own contentious pasts with McGregor from their time in the UFC.

Conor McGregor has not competed since 2021 when he suffered a gruesome leg injury against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Plans to face former Bellator champion Michael Chandler at UFC 303 fell apart after another injury.
