    Community theater subject to regional OCTAfest

    RIO GRANDE — The Southeast Region of the Ohio Community Theater Association will hold its Southeast Region OCTAfest beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the University of Rio Grande Berry Fine Arts Center, West College Street, Rio Grande.

    Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and is $15 cash or check with cash concessions available.

    Two theaters from our region will be performing excerpts. River City Players of Middleport will present “Blythe Spirit.” The Actors Guild of Parkersburg will presenting “The Play That Goes Wrong.”

    The Ohio Community Theater Association (OCTA) is an organization compromised of many community theaters in Ohio and surrounding states,and is dedicated to supporting those theaters with services, educational programs, workshops and scholarships.

    This is one of eight regionals being held this summer. The State OCTAfest will be held at the Midland Theater, Newark, on Labor Day weekend.
