Aztec Chamber of Commerce awards Educator of the Year
Two educators in the Aztec community were nominated for the Educator of the Year award given by the Aztec Chamber of Commerce at the 2024 Bootlegger’s Ball on June 8. Sherry Magee, fifth grade teacher at Park Avenue Elementary, and Catherine Olson, College Career Readiness specialist at Aztec High School, were both nominated this year by community members.

A decade of beer: Ex Novo Brewing Co's Decem series celebrates 10 years of operation
It has been 10 years since Joel Gregory opened Ex Novo Brewing Company. This July, the brewery is celebrating a decade of beer. Gregory, a Corrales native, left the Land of Enchantment and opened Ex Novo in Portland, Oregon, in 2014. Five years later, he opened a second brewpub in Beaverton, Oregon. In 2019, Gregory opened a larger brewing facility in his hometown of Corrales.

Credit Union of Colorado Foundation Awards $50,000 in College Scholarships
Credit Union of Colorado Foundation has announced the 2024 winners of its annual college scholarship program. The Foundation awarded ten students with a $5,000 annual scholarship totaling $50,000 in tuition assistance for the 2024/2025 school year. Fort Collins winner Ariella Maroni will use the scholarship to help pay for her college education at Duke University.
