4 taken to hospital after vehicle crashes into Ripley medical clinic

UPDATE: (1 p.m. Wednesday, July 17) – Four people have been taken to the hospital after a vehicle crashed into a medical clinic in Ripley Wednesday morning.
According to crews on scene, a driver lost control of their vehicle, which went into the CAMC Telemedicine Center building on Clay Lick Road. Crews say the driver was the only person in the vehicle.
Three people were trapped under the car in the incident, crews say. Those individuals and the driver were all taken to the hospital, but their conditions are not known at this time.
Crews are working to stabilize the building before they pull the car out. Ripley first responders did call for collapse/trench rescue teams from Charleston and South Charleston, but Charleston’s team was called off because they did not need both teams’ assistance.
JACKSON COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — A vehicle crashed into a medical clinic in Ripley Wednesday morning, according to dispatchers.
They say the call came in a little after 10:45 a.m. The crash happened at the CAMC Telemedicine Center building on Clay Lick Road in Ripley, according to Jackson County dispatchers.

Dispatchers say anyone trapped has been freed. There are multiple people injured, but the extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
Dispatchers say the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, the Ripley Police Department, the West Virginia State Police, Jackson County EMS, and the Jackson County Volunteer Fire Department are responding. They say a structural collapse team from Charleston is on their way to the scene.
