Arkansas man accused of stealing truck in Benton County arrested during large manhunt
An Arkansas man is behind bars for allegedly trying to steal a truck in Benton County, sparking a large manhunt. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to a disturbance in the 34000 block of Highway 65, in rural Warsaw, Tuesday afternoon. The property owner and an employee said they were returning to the area after work, when they spotted a man trying to drive away in the employee’s truck. The man abandoned the stolen truck and fled into the woods.

The owner of Plaza Towers is facing three felony counts of domestic assault and one count of kidnapping after being arrested Sunday. Marco Denis is the registered agent listed on the Secretary of State business database for the Springfield Property LLC, a company providing retail and commercial rental space across Springfield, including Plaza Towers on the corner of East Sunshine Street and Glenstone Avenue.
Mizzou-themed sports bar planned in Soulard
ST. LOUIS — A new Mizzou-themed sports bar has plans to open at the former site of Llywelyn's Pub in Soulard. Ray’s SportsHouse expects to open in early to mid-August at 1732 S. Ninth St. The new restaurant is owned by Corbin Ray, a 2021 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Local animal shelters waive adoption fees as they experience influx of dogs and cats
Animal shelters in the St. Louis area are experiencing an overflow of dogs and cats being brought into their facilities. The Animal Protective Association of Missouri currently has almost 700 animals in its care, and both of its shelters have reached capacity. APA President and CEO Sarah Javier said most of the animals being brought in are large dogs, making it especially challenging for the organization to find space to care for them.
