July 22 Showers and Thunderstorms Return Today And Most Days This Week
The weekend ended with another day back into the 90s, thanks to sunshine. This morning the clouds have returned as an unsettled weather pattern will stall across our region for much of this week. With this, we can expect daily showers and thunderstorms. This does NOT mean we will have washouts each day, but more likely in the afternoons and evenings.
Ravens LB Roquan Smith says Trenton Simpson ‘has a chance to be special’
After losing Pro Bowl inside linebacker Patrick Queen to the Pittsburgh Steelers in free agency, all eyes turn towards 2023 third-round pick Trenton Simpson as his likely replacement in the middle of the Baltimore Ravens defense alongside All-Pro veteran Roquan Smith. Smith praised his potential new running mate when speaking with the media on the day before the start of training camp. “‘Trent’ [Simpson], the guy works his tail off like no other,” Smith said. “[He’s] always trying to find ways to get better, and you can see in day-in and day-out, his approach to the game, his extra meeting time, and...

Orioles should take notes from Padres for their Jackson Holliday approach
Jackson Holliday remains the top prospect in baseball, even after his brief and ultimately ill-fated stint in the majors earlier this season with the Baltimore Orioles. A Landmark Reimagined: The Revival of Easton’s Waterfowl Building
Standing in front of the Waterfowl Building this past weekend started me thinking about how interesting it is to watch history evolve, listen for echoes of the past, and wonder about future possibilities. After all, this is an Easton landmark—the big castle-looking thing with the geese sculpture. Many still refer to it as ‘The Armory’ due to its prior life as the local home of the Maryland National Guard. However, in 1997, the building was transferred to the Waterfowl Festival and became the Waterfowl Building. Built in 1927, this sturdy structure is almost 100 years old, yet very little has changed. And that’s the problem—very little has changed. While some renovations have been done over the years, it is only now that the efforts have genuinely taken off. Thanks to the Waterfowl Festival’s leadership and local community support, its longevity just might have been extended.
