Fans reject John Harbaugh’s bold vision for Lamar Jackson
Some NFL fans felt like Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh’s recent comments about Lamar Jackson may have gone a little overboard. Harbaugh spoke to reporters Sunday after the Ravens’ first day of training camp at Under Armour Performance Center in Owings Mills, Md. The 61-year-old coach used the opportunity to go off on Jackson’s... The post Fans reject John Harbaugh’s bold vision for Lamar Jackson appeared first on Larry Brown Sports.
Shower and storm chances increase to kick-off workweek
Hopefully you enjoyed the sun today because we start to turn unsettled again into the start of the workweek. Another wave of moisture lifts in our direction making for hit or miss storms Monday afternoon and evening. This active trend holds into Tuesday with an area of low pressure working toward the region. Once again, this brings the threat of a few thunderstorms later in the day into Tuesday night. The higher chance arrives overnight into Wednesday though. The latter half of the day looks drier as this disturbance departs. We set our sights on a cold frontal passage on Thursday though and this brings the potential for more widespread showers and storm. At this time, the threat of severe weather is looking really low. Behind this system, the humidity relaxes a little but we don't tap into much cooler of an airmass. Highs dip back into the mid-80s with dew points likely falling into the upper 50 and lower 60s. Highs then rebound quickly as upper ridging develops into next weekend. The lower to mid-90s are on the docket later in the 10-Day along with more sunshine. We can't rule out some stray storms popping up in the heating of the day though by Monday and Tuesday of the following week. The heat continues to hold for the middle part of next week with highs hanging into the middle-90s.

Ravens, Chargers May Trade for Five-Time Pro Bowler
The Baltimore Ravens or Los Angeles Chargers may trade for five-time Pro Bowler wide receiver, Amari Cooper. According to a report, there’s a new viral rumor that Cooper could be holding out as training camp is around the corner so it’ll be interesting to see how deep he will go. It shouldn’t surprise anyone if he does since he doesn’t have a new deal as he’s entering his final year. He’s been the Browns’ best receiver on the roster after finishing the 2o23 campaign, catching 72 passes for 1,250 yards and five touchdowns.
Instead of a robot apocalypse, Skynet may just want to bring us ice cream
BALTIMORE — There’s a lot of hysteria about artificial intelligence becoming too intelligent. Mystics and philosophers have seen visions of robots taking over the world. Before we become overwhelmed by theories about the technological apocalypse, have we considered robots may simply want to bring us ice cream instead of destruction?
Zay Flowers says NFL rivals ‘gotta worry’ with Derrick Henry joining Lamar Jackson in Baltimore Ravens backfield
THE Baltimore Ravens already boasted one of the NFL's most dominant offenses, but they got much scarier this offseason. In one of the best moves of free agency, the Ravens signed running back Derrick Henry as their newest ball carrier. The Ravens already had a dominant running game, not from...
Payroll implications of the Orioles buying at the trade deadline
It has been a long time since the Orioles have been subject to MLB's luxury tax. Nearly 25 years, in fact. First implemented in the 1996 CBA, the Orioles led the league in luxury tax dollars paid between 1997-1999, forking over $10.6 million in total. Just 8 teams were forced to pay the tax in that timeframe, with the Yankees being the only other organization to contribute more than $3 million.
Ravens rookie CB T.J. Tampa to miss start of training camp after hernia surgery
The Baltimore Ravens have their entire team at training camp, but they kicked off Day 1 without two key rookie contributors: Adisa Isaac and cornerback T.J. Tampa. Tampa could miss time to start his first training camp after having off-season hernia surgery. Ravens rookie CB T. J. Tampa had hernia surgery after minicamp. So Tampa, who is on PUP list, will be sidelined for few more weeks — Jeff Zrebiec (@jeffzrebiec) July 21, 2024 Tampa started every game for the Cyclones the past two seasons and was named to the first-team All-Big 12 squad as a senior after recording 44 tackles, nine passes defended, and a pair of interceptions. Baltimore doubled up at cornerback because the value was too good, selecting Tampa out of Iowa State in the fourth round. The former Iowa State defensive back offers elite range, size, and leaping ability. The Ravens have their projected starting cornerbacks in Marlon Humphrey and Brandon Stephens, but Tampa will compete for snaps with Nate Wiggins, Arthur Maulet, and others. Tampa and Wiggins were roommates at the Combine and got to know each other.
Cano gets his season back on track

Orioles fans know full well that this team could use more pitching depth heading into the second half. Rumors are starting to swirl about how GM Mike Elias will approach the trade deadline but it seems clear that the O's will look at a variety of options in order to shore up their rotation and bullpen depth before the end of July.
Roquan Smith played a key role in Ravens signing Eddie Jackson
Once Eddie Jackson started getting linked with a move to Baltimore, you instinctively knew that Roquan Smith would factor in the decision. After all, Smith and Jackson were Chicago Bears teammates from 2018 to 2022. And the NFL is just like every other job search process—sometimes, you just have to have the right references. With training camp opening up on Saturday, Smith met the media, and a reporter asked if he could put in a good word for Jackson with General Manager Eric DeCosta. “Yes, I always tell the truth,” he answered. Jackson, who signed a one-year deal, is not the same player as...

ARLINGTON, Texas – Reliever Vinny Nittoli has become a collector of baseball memorabilia. He didn’t set out to make it a hobby. His professional career led him to it. “In my man cave I have probably every hat from every team,” he said yesterday afternoon from the visiting clubhouse at Globe Life Field. “It’s been like 30 with minor leagues and major leagues.”
