    Veteran Hollywood Actor Bill Cobbs Passes Away At 90

    Actor Bill Cobbs, who had a long career spanning over 50 years in Hollywood, has passed away.

    The heartbreaking news was first shared by TMZ. According to the news outlet, the actor died on Tuesday evening at his residence in Riverside, California, as stated by his publicist Chuck I. Jones. The exact cause of his death remains unknown.

    Bill Cobbs had an extensive acting career that dates back to the 1970s, accumulating nearly 200 credits in movies and television shows. Some notable roles include playing Devaney, one of Whitney Houston’s staff members, in “The Bodyguard,” portraying Louisiana Slim in “The Hitter” from 1979, starring as Walter in “The Brother from Another Planet” in 1984, and appearing as Reginald in “Night at the Museum” in 2006 and more.

    In 2013, Bill appeared in the movie “Oz the Great and Powerful” as Master Tinker, and he portrayed the character Arthur Chaney in the 1997 film “Air Bud.” His first role in a feature film was in 1974 in “The Taking of Pelham One Two Three.”

    In the early 1990s, Bill had a recurring role as Lewis Coleman on the TV show “I’ll Fly Away.” He also made guest appearances on shows like “Walker, Texas Ranger” and “The Sopranos,” among others.

    Bill achieved success by winning a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Limited Performance in a Daytime Program for his role on the children’s show “Dino Dana.” Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Bill served in the Air Force for 8 years and held various jobs at IBM and as a car salesman before moving to New York to pursue a career in acting.

    Bills brother, Thomas Cobbs released a statement to TMZ. “As a family we are comforted knowing Bill has found peace and eternal rest with his Heavenly Father. We ask for your prayers and encouragement during this time.”
