    Riverside Wildfire Consumes Home, Residents Flee

    RIVERSIDE, Calif., July 22 (KNN) — A raging wildfire consumed a home in its path on the 6700 block of Canyon Hill Drive in the city of Riverside, forcing the residents to flee.

    The fire was last estimated at almost 500 acres. Dubbed the “Hawarden Fire”, the wildfire initially erupted in the 6500 block of Hawarden Drive sometime early Sunday afternoon

    Evacuation orders are in effect for Eagle Crest Court, Chartwell Drive, Horace Street, Hawarden Drive, Berry Road and Via Vista. The fire was moving toward Trautwein and Alessandro, according to Cal Fire.

    The Orange Terrace Community Center at 20010 Orange Terrace Parkway, 92508, is listed as the evacuation center, according to Cal Fire. This fire is not a Cal Fire incident.

    Police patrols will continue throughout the night in the evacuation zones and areas affected by the fire.

    The cause of the fire is under investigation.
