Man hospitalized, home destroyed after massive fire in Menifee
A man was hospitalized and a home destroyed when a massive fire broke out in Menifee early Monday morning. The blaze was first reported a little after 6 a.m. in the 24600 block of Conejo Drive, according to Riverside County Fire Department officials. Crews were dispatched to the scene, a single-story home, where they arrived to find the home engulfed in flames. The occupant of the home, an unidentified man, was able to escape but suffered some injuries that required hospitalization, firefighters said. It took crews nearly an hour to control the flames, which destroyed the home. They were able to prevent them from spreading to nearby structures. Three cars at the house were also damaged by the fire, crews noted. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Riverside County Deputies Arrest Suspects for Negligent Discharge of a Firearm in Coachella
July 2, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on June 30, 2024, at 3:55 p.m., deputies responded to the 50000 block of Camino Coras in Coachella regarding reports of gunfire in the area. Deputies located the residence where the suspected shooting occurred. A search warrant was authored and served with the assistance of the Coachella Community Action Team and Riverside County Sheriff’s K-9 Team. Among the items located at the residence were four handguns, one rifle, and ammunition. In addition, evidence of multiple firearms being discharged negligently was located in the backyard of the residence.
Man hospitalized after car plunges more than 300 feet down ravine near Lake Mathews
A man was hospitalized after his car veered off a road and plunged more than 300 feet down a ravine near Lake Mathews in Riverside County on Monday. It happened just after 11 a.m., when the driver was heading along Cajalco Road, just east of Eagle Canyon Road, according to Riverside County Fire Department crews. They arrived to find the car about 350 feet down the hillside. The driver was able to get out of the car under his own power before walking back up to the road, firefighters said. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment on minor injuries. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash.
