Riverside County Deputies Arrest Suspect for Shooting a Driver on Temescal Canyon Road in Corona
July 12, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Monday, June 24, 2024, at 1:54 a.m., deputies from the. Lake Mathews Sheriff's Station responded to the 1300 block of Magnolia Avenue in the city of Corona regarding a victim who had suffered a gunshot wound. The victim stated on Sunday, June 23, 2024, about 11:37 p.m., he was traveling north on Temescal Canyon Road approaching Dawson Canyon Road when he was struck by gunfire. The victim was later transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Lake Mathews Sheriff's Station Investigators responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. During the investigation, investigators identified the suspect as Luis Orlando Quiroz, a 45-year-old resident of Corona. It was later learned Quiroz's child was in the vehicle during the shooting and was unharmed.

Firefighters Reach Full Containment of Temecula Brush Fire
Firefighters Sunday reached 100% containment of a 101-acre brush fire that broke out on a hillside east of Temecula, the Riverside County Fire Department announced.
