Firefighters reach 100% containment of 344-acre fire in Moreno Valley
MORENO VALLEY, Calif. — Firefighters reached 100% containment Sunday of a brush fire that burned 344 acres in Moreno Valley. The Round Fire was fully contained at about 11 a.m. Sunday, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. It was reported around 12:25 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Gilman Springs Road and Alessandro Boulevard, and grew rapidly. At 6:15 p.m. Saturday, fire officials reported the fire had consumed 300 acres but was 25% contained by lines of cleared vegetation.

Fir Erupts on Hillside Southwest of Perris
A brush fire erupted Tuesday just southwest of Perris, burning along a rocky hillside where it scorched roughly five acres, but not immediately threatening any homes. The non-injury blaze was reported at 3:35 p.m. in the area of Lukens Lane and West Metz Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
