2 arrested in connection to fireworks set off in Ledo Rd. Walmart
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Two suspects have been arrested following fireworks being set off in the Walmart Supercenter on Ledo Road Thursday night. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office told WALB they have arrested a 19 and 20-year-old after one to two small fireworks were used inside the store around 7 p.m. They are both now charged with disorderly conduct.

Valdosta State Prison warden terminated after 16 months
VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - The Valdosta State Prison warden has been terminated after only working at the prison for 16 months, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections. Warden Ralph Shropshire was terminated on Monday, July 1 for unprofessional conduct. According to the Georgia Department of Corrections, it will, “not be commenting further as the dismissal is a personnel matter.”
