A heat advisory is still in effect for central Pennsylvania, and the National Weather Service has added an excessive heat warning that will go into effect at noon. Part of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in the North Hills region has reopened Monday evening after live high-tension power lines came down across all road lanes. The communications team for the Turnpike said around 8 p.m. that the lanes in both directions between the Cranberry (Exit 28) and Butler Valley (Exit 39) interchanges were closed. The wires came down near mile marker 36, where Route 910 crosses the Turnpike.
