Historic WWII tanks to showcase their power at Morgan County Fair’s Salute the Troops
Jacksonville, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Four WWII tanks will roar to life on Wednesday, July 10, in a Salute the Troops event at the Morgan County Fair. The event will honor veterans and current service members and raise money through donations for the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
Taylorville Holds Dedication Ceremony At Veterans Park
A 21-gun salute followed by Taps signified a dedication of the sixth wall at the Taylorville Veterans Memorial. The wall was dedicated to the veterans of the Vietnam War and those who perished during battle. 17 Christian County Soldiers were dedicated on the wall as a tribute to their sacrifices made. Judge Ron Spears was the keynote speaker at the event. Judge Spears spoke about the Declaration of Independence and the Gettysburg Address and the significance of those speeches.
Lincoln Speedway Set For 3 Races In 8 Day Stretch
(Lincoln, IL) Lincoln Speedway, located at the Logan County Fairgrounds in Lincoln, IL, is set for one of its busiest stretches in its history, with three races over the course of eight days.
