    Six Kansas communities awarded Safe Routes to School grants

    (KANSAS) -- The Kansas Department of Transportation announces six Kansas communities is receiving the 2024-2025 Planning and Programming Grants as part of its Safe Routes to School Program.

    According to KDOT, the grants will fund SRTS plans covering eight schools in Riverton, Sedan, Silver Lake, Wellsville, Wallace County Schools, and Weskan Unified School District 242.

    Work on the plans is set to begin in August.

    KDOT says the next opportunity to apply for SRTS grants is currently scheduled for summer of 2025.
