56 days until it is football time in Tennessee
Tennessee will kick off its 2024 football season in 56 days. The Vols will open its upcoming campaign on Aug. 31 against Chattanooga at Neyland Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 12:45 p.m. EDT and SEC Network will televise the contest. 2024 will be the fourth season for Tennessee under head coach Josh Heupel. In his first three seasons, Heupel is 27-12 and guided the Vols to three bowl games. The Vols finished 9-4 (4-4 SEC) last season. Brandon Anderson includes Tennessee football in top seven
2026 interior offensive lineman prospect Brandon Anderson named his top seven schools. Anderson’s top seven schools are Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, Georgia Tech, Alabama, North Carolina State and UCF. “I want to thank God for this opportunity,” Anderson said. The 6-foot-4, 320 pound interior offensive lineman prospect is from North Cobb High School in Kennesaw, Georgia. There are not recruiting rankings currently for Anderson from 247Sports, On3 or ESPN. However, Rivals ranks him as a four-star prospect. Anderson has received 18 scholarship offers, including five in the Southeastern Conference (Tennessee, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Alabama and LSU). Brown earns RCS' Al Reushel Award
ROGERSVILLE — Cross country team captain Brayden Brown at Rogersville City School was honored this week with the Al Reushel Memorial Scholar-Athlete Award, a prestigious honor presented to an eighth grader who participates in at least two sports and maintains the highest cumulative GPA within their class. Brown, the team captain on the cross country team, was also presented the Bob Moncier Memorial “Fight Like a Warrior” Award. The qualifications for the award, voted on by his peers, are based on leadership, team spirit, being a good example to the student-athlete population and so much more. “RCSXC could not be more proud of Brayden for the influence and dedication he brought to our program,” the team posted in social media.
Tennessee Infielder Earns Freshman All-American Honors
Tennessee infielder Dean Curley landed on D1Baseball’s Second Freshman All-American Team on Friday afternoon. Curley landed as the second team shortstop after hitting .285 with 12 home runs, 10 doubles and 58 RBIs in his debut college season with Tennessee baseball. Alabama’s Justin Lebron landed on the first team over Curley after hitting .338 with 12 home runs, nine doubles and 37 RBIs last season for the Crimson Tide.
