Metro Nashville wins lawsuit against Tennessee challenging council size
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — The size of Metro Council will not be reduced after the Nashville government won a lawsuit against the State of Tennessee. In 2023, the Tennessee General Assembly passed a law capping the number of Metro Council to 20 members, cutting the body in half. That law was then signed into law by Governor Bill Lee on March 9, 2023.

University of Michigan Solar Car Team Wins American Solar Challenge
The University of Michigan Solar Car Team on Sunday won the American Solar Challenge, an eight-day, distance-based race from Tennessee to Wyoming. The team covered 2,120 miles in their vehicle, called Astrum, before crossing the finish line in Casper, Wy. Along the way, they took advantage of many of the route’s opportunities to add distance through optional loops.

Gus Seidel Joins Men’s Cycling for 2024-25 Season
BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae College Director of Cycling Tim Hall announced the addition of Gus Seidel to the 2024-25 recruiting class for the men’s cycling program. Eden church to host Homemade Ice Cream Supper
Eden Church will host its Homemade Ice Cream Supper from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3, at 1620 Mill Springs Road, Jonesborough. The homemade ice cream flavors include vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, cheesecake, butter pecan, peach, chocolate chip, blueberry, coffee, cookies and cream. OPMobility to receive $558K toward $3M Spring Hill expansion
(The Center Square) – OPMobility will receive a $558,000 incentive grant from Tennessee toward a $3 million expansion of its Spring Hill plant, which is expected to lead to 186 new jobs in Maury County.
