Boone Man Dies After Collision With Deer On Watauga County Roadway
Boone – On Saturday, July 6, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision in Watauga County on Briarwood Lane near Big Hill Road. A Suzuki four-wheeler was traveling west on Briarwood Lane and struck a deer in the roadway. This collision caused the driver to lose control and overturn.

Beryl may bring tropical moisture, heavy rain to Tennessee Valley
The Weather Authority team is closely monitoring the track of Beryl, which is now a Tropical Storm in the Gulf of Mexico as of Friday evening. The storm is expected to continue to track northwest toward Texas over the weekend. It will likely strengthen back into a hurricane before making landfall somewhere near Corpus Christi on Monday. Model data has continued to track the storm farther north and a landfall near Corpus Christi is looking more likely.
