    Pinpoint Weather: Heat continues, storms possible

    ROANOKE, Va. ( WFXR ) – A Heat Advisory is in effect for parts of the region on Tuesday. It will feel like 105-110 degrees during the afternoon when factoring temperatures and humidity together.

    Due to the heat and humidity, showers and storms are possible during the afternoon and evening. Some storms, mainly those north of US-460, could produce strong wind gusts.

    Showers and storms could start around midday with most of the region dry by 10 p.m.

    Temperatures will start on Tuesday in the 60s and 70s, with many areas rising into the 90s by afternoon. A few areas could hit 100 degrees.

    Heat will continue on Wednesday as the region sits ahead of a cold front. Temperatures will top out in the mid-90s. Cooler air returns on Thursday and continues into early next week with highs in the 80s. A daily chance for showers and storms is expected.
