ROANOKE, Va. ( WFXR ) – Calmer conditions are expected to return to the region starting on Friday. A few showers and storms are possible, but many will stay dry behind a cold front.

The best chance for rain on Friday will be near the North Carolina border. Rain should be less than half an inch.

Humidity levels will drop slightly starting Friday and continuing into the weekend. Because of this, most of the region will be dry this weekend. The one exception is the mountains where stray storms are possible.
