Williamsport, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Treasury reports that it is currently holding on to $4 billion in unclaimed property such as abandoned contents of safe deposit boxes, inactive savings accounts, forgotten stocks, and uncashed checks. During a recent event hosted by Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23), Rep. Jamie Flick (R-83), and Rep. A local non-profit hosts fundraiser in Teal Park to help spay and neuter stray cats
HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) -- Teal Park in Horseheads was filled with animal lovers hoping to help out the stray cat population in the area. The money raised from the picnic style fundraiser will go to a local non-profit, Tender Loving Cats Trap-Neuter- Return (TLC TNR), and their spaying and neutering services.

A voluntary recall of cucumbers and bagged salads sold in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut due to possible listeria contamination has been expanded to include additional produce.Earlier this month, Wiers Farm recalled whole cucumbers and bagged salads with pack dates of June 5 and June 6.While the products involved are past their shelf life, the recall has been expanded to others in response to an investigation.Products involved in the expanded recall were packed between July 5-12 and sold under the brand names Wiers Farm and Freshire Farms.According to the FDA, the move is being made out of an abundance...

Broadband authority OKs $20M for laptops
(The Center Square) — The Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority voted Thursday to spend $20 million on more than 14,000 laptops to grow internet access in the commonwealth. The unanimous vote allows the Authority to award between 20 and 200 laptops to libraries, schools, municipalities and other groups.
