Pennsylvania Man Sentenced to 17 Years for Sexual Assaulting a Juvenile Boy
A guy from Pittston Township was given a maximum term of seventeen years in state prison after being caught over three years ago on charges of sexually assaulting a minor. For involuntary deviant sexual encounters, 27-year-old Travis Lee Abbott received a jail sentence of six to seventeen years from Judge Joseph F. Sklarosky Jr. of Luzerne County. Abbott entered a guilty plea on April 5.

A Steamtown train ushered in Olyphant's Third Thursday on June 20. The train arrived with 55 riders to Olyphant's Queen City Station, welcomed by the Lackawanna Heritage Valley partnership and Olyphant officials. NEPA woman faces animal abuse charges for dumping puppies
In Lackawanna County newborn puppies left in garbage bags in dumpsters have led to charges of animal cruelty. Blakely borough police say 40 year old Catherine Yvette Small told them she believed the five Cane Corso puppies that she directed her teenage son to dispose of in Timberfalls Apartments dumpsters had already died, according to a criminal complaint filed by Cpl. Michael Shaheen. In fact, four were still alive. She was charged Tuesday with a felony count of aggravated animal cruelty. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for later this month.
