All aboard for Third Thursday in Olyphant
A Steamtown train ushered in Olyphant's Third Thursday on June 20. The train arrived with 55 riders to Olyphant's Queen City Station, welcomed by the Lackawanna Heritage Valley partnership and Olyphant officials. Music filled the air as the riders descended from the train and were given a map of Lackawanna Avenue for shopping and eating.
Pennsylvania Man Sentenced to 17 Years for Sexual Assaulting a Juvenile Boy
A guy from Pittston Township was given a maximum term of seventeen years in state prison after being caught over three years ago on charges of sexually assaulting a minor. For involuntary deviant sexual encounters, 27-year-old Travis Lee Abbott received a jail sentence of six to seventeen years from Judge Joseph F. Sklarosky Jr. of Luzerne County. Abbott entered a guilty plea on April 5.
