Man pleads no contest to killing father in Luzerne County
LUZERNE CO. (WOLF) — A man has been sentenced to up to 30 years in state prison after pleading no contest to killing his father in Luzerne County in 2022. Kevin Novak pleaded no contest in court Tuesday to charges of shooting and killing his father, Richard Novak, in Nanticoke in March 2022.

Youth stream ecology and fly-fishing program announced
The Pike County Conservation District (PCCD), Wayne Conservation District, and Pike-Wayne Chapter of Trout Unlimited will be holding an educational program titled “Stream Keepers” on Saturday, August 3. This is a free opportunity for youth ages 11 to 14 and their chaperone(s) to learn about stream health through hands-on activities including fly tying, fly casting, and aquatic macroinvertebrate surveying. Additional youth participants who do not meet the age requirements are welcome to attend with a registered participant but must remain with their chaperone at all times.
