The two specialists in outdoor gear have teamed up once again to create a new transportable kitchen that provides campers with a sophisticated way to cook out in the wild. The aptly named Kitchen Cruiser transforms from a compact, portable box into a fully fledged kitchen with prep zones, cooking stations, cleaning facilities, and storage areas.
“Camping often means compromising on meals,” Cinch founder Jake Jackson said in a statement . “With the Kitchen Cruiser, we aim to change that.”
Weighing 43 lbs, the streamlined design features four folding legs and two expandable shelves. One shelf doubles as a worktop, while the other houses a collapsible sink. The Kitchen Cruiser has running water, too, with a battery-powered tap drawing from a canister or bottle to supply H2O for washing, drinking, and cooking.
The Transformer-esque touches don’t stop there. The top of the unit pops up to create another shelve and provide access to the 2.2-kW LPG stove. The burner will pump out enough heat for everything from morning coffee to your evening steak. Campers could also put a second portable stove on the worktop to create a two-burner setup for more complex cooks.
To top it off, the Kitchen Cruiser features multiple drawers for cutlery, utensils, and other requisite kitchen tools. It is also equipped with handles that make transportation a breeze. It doesn’t have any wheels but that makes it more stable on the ground and helps it sit flat in a truck bed.
“Our goal is to make it possible for campers to cook delicious meals anywhere, without needing a truckload of equipment,” added Jackson. “Everything you need is in one portable box.”
The Kitchen Cruiser isn’t the only bit of camping kit Wildland and Cinch have created. The duo unveiled an inflatable rooftop tent in June last year. The Air Cruiser can be erected with the simple push of a button. Put both Cruisers together and you’ll have one cruisey camping experience.
The Kitchen Cruiser campaign launched on Kickstarter on July 31 and reached its funding goal in less than 60 minutes. (So far, 153 backers have pledged a total of $68,633.) The unit costs $699, though you can get it for the early bird price of $499. Shipping is expected to begin in September 2024.
