Falcons and Hawks acknowledged with Athena and Apollo awards

Four student-athlete stars from Robbinsdale Armstrong and Robbinsdale Cooper were recently selected as their school’s respective winners for the Athena and Apollo Awards.

Robbinsdale Armstrong

Armstrong’s Caitlyn Osanai earned the Athena Award. Osanai has spent multiple seasons as one of the top cross country runners in the state, not faltering for a moment in her senior 2023 season. Osanai has since signed a letter of intent to compete for and attend the University of Minnesota.

Armstrong’s Dayton Franke earned the Apollo Award. Franke has spent recent years as a constant presence for Falcons sports, playing a key role as both leader and competitor on the varsity baseball, football and hockey teams. Franke has signed a little of intent to play baseball at South Dakota State University.

Robbinsdale Cooper

Cooper’s Keira Snapko earned the Athena Award. Snapko recently starred as a key piece of the Armstrong/Cooper co-op girls soccer team, which impressed in 2023 with a superb defensive record.

Snapko also recently won the Academics, Arts, and Athletics Award, also known as the Triple A Award, as Cooper’s representative. The Triple A Award honors seniors throughout the state who have a 3.0 or higher grade point average while participating in league-sponsored athletics and fine arts activities.

Cooper’s Kameron Fox earned the Apollo Award. Fox is a multi-sport athlete at Cooper and has starred for both the football and baseball teams. As starting quarterback in 2023, Fox proved to be an essential leader for the Hawks on their run to the section final and was regularly noted by head coach Tony Patterson as a source of maturity and determination.
