    Falcons and Hawks compete at Armstrong Invitational

    The Falcons and Hawks were among many track and field teams that gathered at Robbinsdale Armstrong High School April 12 to take part in the Armstrong Invitational, with several competitive finishes for both teams.

    Armstrong

    Armstrong High School placed sixth in the boys events last week with 30 points and fourth in the girls events with 54 points.

    Eli Kuempel led the way for Armstrong in the boys 100-meter run, finishing 15th with a time of 11.71 seconds. Kevon Johnson earned 19th and Dylan Gilles finished in 25th.

    Armstrong added third and fourth place finishes in the boys 200 meter with Reid Stanslaski, a time of 22.78, and Emmett Fallah, with a time of 23.00.

    Lucas Ringel finished third in the 400-meter run with a time of 53.74. Sam Majewski and Griffin Schmidt led Armstrong in the 800-meter run in fifth and seventh with times of 2:05.62 and 2:12.54.

    LaVie Freeman earend fourth place in the 110 meters hurdles with a time of 16.25. Freeman earned 10th in the 300-meter hurdles and Gabriel Lundberg finished eighth with a time of 46.83.

    Armstrong’s boys relay A Team finished third in the 4x100-meter relay and second in the 4x200-meter relay with times of 44.80 and 1:32.52, respectively.

    Armstrong’s Mykhailo Protsenko and Luke Pappas earned eighth and tenth in the boys shotput. Pappas earned third in discus while Protsenko earned fourth.

    For the girls teams, Araiya Chiaokhiao-Bowman and Tamia Floyd earned fifth and sixth for Armstrong in the 100-meter run with times of 13.05 and 13.09. Olivia Suchy was third in the 200-meter run with a time of 27.03. Soleil Noyes earned fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:42.36. Caitlyn Osanai earned second in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:53.46.

    Mackenzie Lovejoy led Armstrong in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing second with a time of 16.74. Cecelia Borsay earned fifth. Lovejoy also earned third in the 300 meters hurdles with a time of 50.16. Armstrong finished second in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 51.14.

    Ava Mack earned fourth in shot put for Armstrong and took second in discus. Sarahya College also earned first in the girls high jump.

    Cooper

    Cooper High School had three runners in the boys 100-meter run. Tacarie Siner led the way with an eighth place finish and time of 11.49. Milo Athias Finn finished 10th and Kelvin Kallon earned 17th. Finn was also Cooper’s top finisher in the 200-meter run, earning ninth with a time of 23.72.

    Akram Bahri and Gregory Wheeler were Cooper’s top two in the boys 400-meter run, earning 14th and 16th with times of 56.95 and 57.81 respectively.

    Cooper’s Malk Williams earned ninth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 18.36.

    Cooper’s B and A boys 4x100-meter relay teams placed fifth and sixth with times of 45.36 and 45.43 respectively.

    Cooper’s Rassan Alexander tied Osseo’s Kalen Blanchette and Armstrong’s Elijah Scott for ninth place for boys long jump with a distance of 17 feet, 6 inches. In triple jump, Israel Ogunleye earned eighth, while Avantay Bell earned 11th.

    Cooper’s Attoria McDonald was the Hawks’ one representative in girls hurdles, finishing 11th in the 100-meter hurdles.

    Princess Karnga earned 16th for Cooper in the girls high jump with a mark of 4-2.
