At 6:45 p.m. April 22, officers from the Robbinsdale Police Department responded to an armed domestic situation.

“As is standard procedure, a shelter-in-place notification was sent out by the Hennepin County Communications Division,” the police department wrote in a note to the press. “This was to be sent to the impacted residences on the block. However, it was sent, unintentionally, to the entire Hennepin County.”

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office later released a statement explaining the message to all of Hennepin County was “human error” and they found “the step in the alert process that resulted in the mistake.”
