    Robbinsville Police Department Offers Challenge (Coin) to Stay S.A.F.E.

    ROBBINSVILLE, NJ - The Robbinsville Police Department is reminding local families that may have a loved one that has autism or is non-verbal to join the Rville S.A.F.E Team.

    By joining the S.A.F.E Team, the Department says on their website, families will be providing Robbinsville police officers with quick access to critical information about their loved one, should an emergency occur. The information provided remains confidential and only be shared with first responders during an emergency.

    Included in the information to be provided is emergency contact information, detailed physical descriptions including a photo, medical concerns, the best way to communicate, and known stressors / stress reducers. If a photograph can not be provided the Robbnsville Police Department will take one. The information, police say, will greatly assist responding officers when time is essential in communicating during an emergency situation.

    All Rville S.A.F.E. Team members will also receive one of the newly minted Rville S.A.F.E. challenge coins.

    “The Robbinsville Police Department has made a strong commitment to improving relations and interactions between our officers and the autistic community, ” the website says.

    Any questions or concerns can be directed to Lt. Thomas Egan , and once downloaded, completed applications may be turned in to our School Resource Officers, handed in at the Robbinsville Police Department Dispatch window, or emailed to Lt. Thomas Egan .
