$50K winning lottery ticket sold in Roberts

    2024-07-11

MADISON — It was a good morning for Noah Lykens and his employer, Bob & Steve’s BP Amoco Shop, located at 541 Cherry Lane in Roberts. Shortly after the store manager started his shift, he learned his store had sold a winning $50,000 Powerball ticket for the July 10 drawing.

“It’s unbelievable,” said Lykens. “It’s hard to believe someone in our small town could win something like this.”

According to the most recent United States Census report, the population in Roberts is 2,082.

Lykens said the $50,000 winning ticket is the largest winning Lottery ticket the retailer has ever sold. The winning ticket matched four of five numbers (7-11-12-27-46) plus the Powerball (26).

“This is great for the store. A big win like this is a nice change for us.”

Roberts said Bob & Steve’s BP Amoco Shop customers enjoy playing a wide range of Wisconsin Lottery games.

“We sell quite a few Powerball and Mega Millions tickets, but we also have customers that enjoy the scratch tickets too.”

Wisconsin Lottery retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a 2% Retailer Performance Winning Ticket Incentive, up to $100,000.

Players have 180 days from the draw date to claim their winnings. Information on how to claim a prize is available at wilottery.com. Players can also check their tickets using the Wisconsin Lottery mobile app, available at the App Store or Google Play.

The odds of winning a $50,000 Powerball prize are 1:913,130.
