City of Springfield Warns of Phone Scam

The City of Springfield has received reports indicating an individual has contacted them by phone requesting payment for overdue utility bills.

The City of Springfield reminds residents that City of Springfield employees will never call asking you to mail cash, wire transfer, or pay with a credit or debit card over the phone. Contact law enforcement before sending any money to an unknown organization that has contacted you directly.
