Longtime Judge Burton Dunn Glover Dies, He Was 85
Springfield, TN (Smokey Barn News) – Judge Burton Dunn Glover, a distinguished figure in Robertson County, passed away on June 10, 2024, after a brief illness. He was 85. Born on January 3, 1939, to Burton Wilks Glover and Mary Louise Dunn Glover, Judge Glover was a native of Springfield. He graduated from Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, Tennessee, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. During his undergraduate years, he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and the Order of the Gownsmen academic society. He later received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the Nashville School of Law.

Popular Springfield restaurant to close after 31 years
SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WSMV) - A popular Robertson County restaurant announced on Saturday it would be closing in August. The Catfish House, located on Tom Austin Highway in Springfield, has been in business in Springfield for 31 years. The company announced it would be closing the Springfield location on Aug. 4.
Investigation Underway After Carlos Camaja, 24, Found Shot Near Tennessee-Kentucky State Line
A man found dead near the Tennessee-Kentucky state line was identified as 24-year-old Carlos Camaja from Springfield. According to the WSMV, the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office found Camaja's body on June 11 near train tracks at North Qualls Road and Pineywoods Road. Police have indicated the victim was shot before being taken to the location where he was left, though the duration for which the body had been at the site before discovery remains uncertain.
