Invalid signatures for Pa. city’s anti-Israel referendum sinks effort
A proposed referendum for the November ballot to keep Pittsburgh from doing business with companies that have financial ties to Israel came to an end on Monday. Before a hearing could take place, the Pittsburgh Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) acknowledged that its No War Crimes on Our Dime movement did not collect enough valid signatures to get the referendum on the city’s Nov. 5 ballot.

Steelers Release Promising Veteran Cornerback
The Pittsburgh Steelers released veteran cornerback Anthony Averett in a series of roster moves on Tuesday. Averett suffered a hamstring injury in the third quarter of Saturday night’s preseason game against the Buffalo Bills, and did not return. Averett got beat by Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell for a touchdown in the first preseason game.
Urgent Community Alert: Man Missing from Brentwood, Pennsylvania
Darrell Klette, a 46-year-old man from Brentwood, Pennsylvania, has been reported missing since July 12, 2024. He was last seen at his home in Brentwood Borough at around 6 a.m. Klette stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 145 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair, which was recently cut. Notably, he has a distinctive “Zen” style tattoo on his forearm.
