MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis residents' garbage collection will be delayed because of Independence Day, and some may need to leave their garbage cart out until Saturday. The City of Memphis said trash will not be picked up on July 4. Trash day will be Friday, July 5, for people who usually have their garbage picked up on Thursdays. Downtown Neighborhood Association requests weekend patrols by Shelby County deputies
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Downtown Neighborhood Association (DNA) has requested Shelby County deputies to patrol the area on the weekends. In a post to their Facebook page Wednesday, the DNA said that their Board of Directors voted unanimously to make the request, and said they were hoping to enhance "the safety and security of Downtown Memphis during the evenings, particularly on Friday through Sunday evenings from the hours of 8:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m."
