DEKALB, Ill. (WTVO) — A Rochelle couple, killed Tuesday in a five-car crash on I-88 in DeKalb County, leave behind two children, according to a GoFundMe fundraiser.

Bryan and Asheri Campbell were killed around 5:39 p.m. near Cortland, after a box truck crashed into another car, causing a pileup, according to authorities.

According to family friend Nick Haws, “Bryan “Soupy” Campbell was a hard worker. He was a loving father and husband, a loyal friend, and a big personality. He worked multiple jobs in order to provide for his family and fund their adventures.

“Asheri (Davis) Campbell was a devoted wife and mother, she was the perfect complement to Bryan. She was the peacemaker, the smoother of his rough edges. She was passionate about her family. She loved watching the boys grow and did what it took to see them thrive.”

The fundraiser has raised $19,441 of a $30,000 goal to raise money for final expenses and for the two surviving boys.
