ROCHESTER — Matt Mowry has a message for Cacidy, his missing 15-year-old son .

"We love you, and we just want you home," he said. "We can work out anything. Just please come home."

Matt Mowry said his family is frightened and heartbroken. They want to thank all the people and resources helping to find his son, who has been missing for a week.

Most of all they want to see their son's face, hug him, and to know he is safe.

On Friday July 26, around 10 p.m., Cacidy Mowry ran away from his home in Rochester and is believed to be traveling via public transportation to the western part of the country, according to his father and Rochester police. Cacidy Mowry is described as approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He has shoulder-length red hair, blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts, black shoes and carrying a black backpack.

It is believed Cacidy Mowry hitched a ride to a bus station in Dover on the morning of Saturday, July 27 and took a bus to Boston's South Station, where he got off around 8:30 a.m. Rochester police Capt. Todd Pinkham said police have obtained video surveillance showing his departure in Dover and his arrival in Boston.

The last confirmed sighting of Cacidy in Rochester occurred around midnight after his disappearance. A Ring camera captured an image of him approaching a house in East Rochester before he turned and walked away. The homeowner shared this footage on the Ring Neighborhood app the following morning.

Dad says: 'We love him so very much'

Cacidy Mowry came to the family through the foster care system. Matt Mowry said he has been a part of their family since he was 4 years old, and at age 5, they officially adopted him.

"We love him so very much, and I hope he has always known that," Matt Mowry said. "We don't think this was a planned event, but something that happened after a discussion Friday night. Cacidy has some impulsive anger issues, and we believe this is what prompted him to run away. We are so terrified for him."

Matt Mowry said he and Cacidy had a discussion that resulted in him taking away a cellphone in his possession.

"He was using an old phone, possibly one of my wife's that he found," Matt Mowry said. "It was not set up for phone calls, but he was using it to access the Internet. He was in summer school and was not doing too well. So, we took the phone and told him we would return it when he was doing better. I went to put our youngest to bed, and when I came back down, he was gone."
