    NWS confirms second tornado hit Rochester region on Monday. Here's where it touched down

    The National Weather Service in Buffalo confirmed that a second tornado touched down in the Rochester region Monday afternoon, amidst severe thunderstorms and a twister in Canandaigua, that ripped through the area.

    NWS confirms tornado in Pavilion, Genesee County, New York

    The twister touched down in Pavilion, Genesee County, and was an EF-0 on the Enhanced Fujita scale with peak wind speeds of 85 mph, according to the Weather Service.

    It touched down at 3:50 p.m. and was on the ground for two minutes, and traveled three-quarters of a mile, according to the data released Wednesday . The tornado had a width of 75 yards.

    The tornado damaged numerous trees, snapping trunks and branches, and uprooted several others. There wasn't any report of damage to buildings, according to the Weather Service.

    Tornado touches down in Canandaigua NY

    Also on Monday, an EF-0 tornado ripped through Canandaigua in Ontario County .

    The twister, with peak wind speeds of 75 mph, touched down at 4:48 p.m. Monday and was on the ground for two minutes, and traveled .7 miles, according to the data released Tuesday afternoon . The tornado had a path width of 75 yards.

    The tornado damaged trees along the northern shore of Canandaigua Lake, from Kershaw Park through a development just east of the park and into Canandaigua Country Club, according to the Weather Service.

    High winds caused some trees to snap and uprooted others. Shingles, siding and other aluminum fascia were damaged on some homes. There was also some tree and utility pole damage along Eastern Boulevard.

    No injuries or fatalities were reported in connection with either tornado.
