ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The YMCA of Greater Rochester is encouraging summer learning for kids through the Power Scholars Academy.

The program blends small-group academic instruction with camp-like enrichment activities over a six-week period. It’s designed to help prevent summer learning loss for kids in pre-K through ninth grade.

“We know that there are very limited opportunities during the summer for youth, especially in the city, to be able to have those enriching academic experiences and keep on track for the fall,” program director Jonathan Coyle said. “It’s amazing to be able to work with them and support them with an amazing team of staff to help that happen.”

Power Scholars Academy is free for students. Click here for more information.
