ROCHESTER, N.Y (WROC) — A man who was found guilty of manslaughter has been sentenced to prison Friday morning.

18-year-old Raymar Alexander was sentenced to 17 years in prison plus five years post-release supervision. This stemmed from the fatal shooting of a teenager on Weld Street two years ago.

On November 1, 2022, officers found Chance Mosley dead on the front porch of a home. He was shot several times. Alexander, who was 16 years old at the time, arrived at Rochester General Hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm.

Investigators said Alexander shot Mosley at least ten times and then shot himself by accident. He was arrested and originally charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He pleaded guilty to manslaughter last May.
