Driving Park Bridge closing Saturday for Bridging Communities party

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The City of Rochester issued a traffic alert Thursday, warning drivers the Driving Park Bridge will be closed through Saturday afternoon.

The Driving Park Bridge from Maplewood Avenue to Carthage Drive will close from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. July 27 for the Genesee Land Trust’s Bridging Communities River Party event.

The celebration of the Genesee River and Lower Falls takes place from noon to 3:30 p.m. There will be live music, food, face painting, magicians, games, and more.

There will also be Lower Falls tours to educate visitors about the local history of the Underground Railroad, and NY State Parks officials on site gathering public feedback about the proposed state park at High Falls.
