ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – As folks remember the lives lost, they also continue to pray for justice, as an arrest has yet to be made in relation to the Maplewood Park shooting.

Echoing calls for peace heard time and time again, the community joined faith leaders in Rochester to talk about all the recent violence.

“I know as a religious leader I don’t have many words of comfort or hope. I mostly feel frustrated and angry that this continues to happen, and it doesn’t have to. And so – the more that I can act when I feel things are out of my control – the more likely we can actually make a difference,” Bishop, Episcopal Diocese of Rochester Wagner Sherer said.

This ‘peace walk’ as organizers call it, started at the Church of the Ascension in Rochester and ended at Maplewood Park.

Organizers say it’s important for the community to band together and bring light to the very place where tragedy struck just days earlier.
