ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A teen has pled guilty after a man was shot and killed outside of a store on Portland Avenue in October 2023.

On October 5, 2023, just before midnight, Rochester Police responded to Portland Avenue near Norton Street for the report of a man shot and found 32-year-old Shalar Davy on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds to his chest and abdomen.

Davy was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say 17-year-old Jordan Torres and another teen named Eric Thomas approached a man standing near the victim armed with a rifle. When both Torres and Thomas pulled out their guns, Davy stepped in to stop them when he was shot twice.
