Columbia River Drug Task Force scrambles to secure adequate funding, receiving $150,000 grant from Department of Commerce
WENATCHEE—The Columbia River Drug Task Force (CRDTF) acquired $150,000 in grant funding from the Washington State Department of Commerce. The grant was allocated following a direct Ellensburg address from the CRDTF and other drug task forces across the state centered on the criticality of funding for drug task forces.

$42 million tort claim accuses Washington AGO, WSU of racketeering

King County K9s help deputies seize more than 80 pounds of drugs
The King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) conducted another major drug bust this week. With the help of K9s Fury and Quinn, more than 80 pounds of illegal drugs were seized. According to KCSO via a Facebook post on Wednesday, deputies served a narcotics search warrant on an empty house on 29th Avenue South in Des Moines earlier this week.

Tacoma City Council Approves Funding For New Multicultural Child & Family Hope Center
The Tacoma City Council recently voted to authorize the execution of a financing arrangement with the Multicultural Child and Family Hope Center in the amount of $1.5 million budgeted from the Urban Development Action Grant Fund for the development and construction of a new facility at 2102 S. 23rd St. which will help the Hope Center consolidate operations, expand services, and increase capacity and efficiency in the delivery of services. The Hope Center is a non-profit human services and early learning center that has operated in Tacoma for more than 30 years. Hobby Lobby Closes 61,500 SQFT Store in Tacoma Central Shopping Mall
Arts and crafts retailer Hobby Lobby has closed its store in the Tacoma Central shopping center earlier this month. The 61,484-square-foot space, located at 3130 S. 23rd, appears to now be available for lease, according to a report from the Puget Sound Business Journal. The vacant building is owned by an entity affiliated with Pietromonaco Jackson Properties, a Mercer Island-based real estate company. The property is listed for lease at $16 per square foot, or $82,000 per month for the entire building. The property sits on a 5-acre site and includes parking.
