Seahawks' Kenneth Walker: Rested through two preseason games
Walker did not participate in Saturday's 16-15 preseason loss to the Titans. Walker has not taken the field for either of Seattle's first two preseason games, which doesn't come as much surprise given that he's projected to serve as the lead back in Seattle. He could cede some touches to Zach Charbonnet (undisclosed) on obvious passing downs in 2024, but Walker looks to be in a strong position to top 200 carries for the third time in as many pro seasons.
Watch: Seahawks S Ty Okada secures clutch late interception
The Seattle Seahawks are currently trailing the Tennessee Titans 13-12 in their second preseason game. The Titans have dominated the ball in the second half, preventing the Seahawks offense from many opportunities. However, safety Ty Okada has given Seattle perhaps one final chance. On 3rd-and-6, Titans quarterback Malik Willis’ pass deep was deflected, and boucned into the waiting arms of Okada. Portland walks-off Wenatchee for WCL Title
Portland scored two runs in the bottom of the 9th to edge Wenatchee 6-5 to win its first-ever West Coast League Championship Friday night. The game was tied 4-4 in the top of the 9th when Wenatchee's James Castagnola came through with an RBI-double to give the AppleSox a 5-4 lead. It came down to 3-year Wenatchee starter Quincy Vasser, a Brewster native and coach Mitch Darlington's first recruit 4-years ago, to seal the victory. Vasser coaxed the first two outs but then loaded the bases, surrendering the game-tying run on a bases-loaded walk. Conner Stewart grounded a slow, bounding ball to the left side of the infield where Castagnola bobbled, allowing the winning run to score.
