Children's museum says it's within $2 million of fundraising goal
JANESVILLE — The Children’s Museum of Rock County says it’s closing in on a $10 million capital campaign goal, that will bring its envisioned project to downtown Janesville. Beloit business receives $10,000 Backing Small Business grant
Out of the 500 businesses around the country receiving $10,000 Backing Small Business grants from American Express and Main Street America, four of them are in Rock County. Kimberly Megan is the owner of Chic & Unique at 318 State Street in Beloit. She’s using the grant to remove the stucco from her building and restore it to the original brick.
Two Rock County women face drug charges
BELOIT - Two Rock County women face drug charges after Rock County Sheriff's Office officials executed a search warrant in Beloit on Tuesday morning. Crystal L. Eichman, 43, of Beloit, faces charges of possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a premises for drug trafficking, according to a news release from the Rock County Sheriff's Office.
Rock County offering storm damage repair assistance
JANESVILLE — The Rock County Planning and Development Agency has funding available to assist with recovery from recent tornado and heavy rain events. Funding is available for owned residences outside the cities of Beloit and Janesville for households at or below 80% of the county median income. That equates to a household income of $48,550 up to $80,400 for sizes one up to six with increments in between.

A Rock County Sheriff’s Office special drug unit arrests two women in a sting that officials say turned up cocaine and drug equipment in a house in Beloit.
