Lugo and French named to the All-SAC Tournament team

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Junior infielder Jomar Lugo and junior pitcher Hunter French were named to the South Atlantic Conference All-Tournament Baseball team announced from the conference office on Tuesday, May 14.

The all-tournament team was voted on by the participating head coaches.

Lugo went 8-16 throughout the tournament with 11 runs driven in. Lugo had a career-high six RBI performance in the Wolves’ 18-6 first round win over Wingate. In that win, Lugo hit his first career home run in grand style as he would hit a grand slam in the third inning.

French kept the Wolves’ momentum in the tournament going as he would help lead the Wolves to an 8-1 win over Carson-Newman in the second round of the tournament. In that win French threw 5.2 innings pitched only allowing one run and striking out two Eagles to earn his sixth win of the season.

Lugo and French will be the 22nd and 23rd players to make the SAC All-Tournament team under head coach Russell Triplett.
