New family-friendly entertainment center in Rock Hill lets you eat, drink and play golf

To say Charles Coulson and Harrison Dixon grew up together is an understatement.
The pair met 22 years ago at Ebenezer Avenue Elementary School in Rock Hill. Then, they attended Sullivan Middle School and Rock Hill High School together, playing “all kinds of sports” along the way.
Even after the pair split at college — with Coulson going to Winthrop and Dixon going to the University of South Carolina — life drew them together again. Dixon came back home and finished his degree at Winthrop.
Now, the friends are adding a business to their repertoire as co-owners of the 19th at the Warehouses , Rock Hill’s first indoor golf experience and event venue.
“We played all kinds of sports growing up but never golf for some reason,” Coulson said.
The COVID pandemic changed that.
“We got the golf bug, went out and played every day. After a couple of beers one day, we said how awesome would it be if we’d be able to bring a golf simulator-type business to the Rock Hill area,” Coulson said.
“We had that conversation in 2021, and here we are in 2024. We’re finally getting it done.”

Playing at 19th at the Warehouses
At 19th at the Warehouses, there are four golf simulators in the main dining area and two private rooms in the back for reservations.
The restaurant is licensed with Full Swing, a PGA Tour partner that also produces a TV documentary on Netflix of the same name that goes behind the scenes with top golfers. The partnership gives 19th at the Warehouses customers access to exclusive courses and metrics through the simulators.
The simulators also feature football, basketball and baseball games, a feature that Coulson said makes them more appealing to the general public.

“We thought we would incorporate that because we want it to be a family-friendly environment,” Coulson said. “The way that kids have walked up, thinking they’re just going to watch their parents play golf, and then they see there’s a carnival game, there’s zombie dodgeball, and they start playing. It’s nice.”
Coulson said there’s some potential for golf lessons with simulators, but no concrete plans have been established.
Food and drink
The menu at 19th at the Warehouses features snacks including boiled peanuts, warm spinach dip and churros, plus signature sandwiches and flatbreads.
Among the choices are the Course Classic Sandwich, served with Southern-style chicken salad, pimento cheese or egg salad on white bread; and the BBQ Chicken Flat Bread with shredded chicken breast, red onion and mozzarella on naan, drizzled with barbecue sauce.

The restaurant also offers a full bar with six draft beers, bottled and canned beers. Golf-themed cocktails include the Bunkers Transfusion, with Tito’s vodka, ginger ale and a splash of grape juice or the Fescue Rescue, with whiskey, strawberry syrup and ginger beer.

Coulson said there has been talk about getting a full-time chef and expanding the food menu, but the current selection has served them well so far.
The restaurant and entertainment center celebrated its grand opening on June 21, taking over the space last used by The Mercantile.
“Honestly, it’s been very busy but very refreshing,” Coulson said. “Harrison and I got the keys to this building last May, so seeing it finally, 14 months later, come together and see people in here eating, drinking, laughing, playing, just having a good time, it’s been busy but very fulfilling.”
