Post 43 Juniors drop opener in state tournament
NEWBERRY – Struggles abound for Fort Mill Post 43 Juniors as they fell in the opening round of the American Legion Juniors state tournament. After nearly a two-and half-hour delay to the start of the tournament because nearly 2.5 inches of rain wreaked havoc on field conditions the Newberry College baseball field the night before, Fort Mill, a fifth seed, opened the state tournament against Richland Post 215 Red falling 7-3.
Benedict alumni help HBCU break annual fundraising goal
Columbia, SC (WOLO) — Benedict College is celebrating a decade of giving. 42 of the 63 alumni clubs, from the college have surpassed their yearly fundraising goal which goes to support several hardworking Benedict students. School officials say they wanted to reach their goal of $1.5 million dollars, but eclipsed that amount by more than $200 thousand dollars for a total of $1,730,173.45 dollars.

Summer camp puts focus on mentoring and inspiration
The ninth annual Impact Camp brings participants together for mentoring with guest speakers and camp counselors. At Impact Camp, the emphasis is on positive influences. The camp, sponsored by Meck Investment Company, is in its ninth year and will take place at Johnson C.
